She was a beautiful woman who owned her sexiness but who was still vulnerable and fragile. Maybe a lot of woman connect with that. Owning their power but still being vulnerable and weak at times. It's hard to stay strong all the time. Maybe it was because she was ahead of her time in showing off her sexiness. There hadn't really been anyone as open with their sexuality and being comfortable with it like Marilyn Monroe. She broke the mold in that sense. Maybe it was the fact that she died young. She is timeless. When you think of Marilyn Monroe you will forever see her youth and beauty. People will be talking about her for lifetimes. There also was more of a sense of mystery with her. In today's world we have the internet where everything a celeb does gets turned into a blog or news article and paparazzi who love to follow celebs and aid in our guilty pleasure. Imagine there had been a reality show with Marilyn Monroe I wonder if people would consider her iconic today or if she would have been another beautiful face passing through Hollywood. Her sense of mystery left people wanting more. People attempt to connect with her mystery based on a few things they do know. Either way Marilyn Monroe has legions of young women who idolize her going as far as tattooing her face on their body. She represents something to these people.
